My name is Catherine Peters, and I am running for the Kyrene School District Governing Board for the 2026 election. 

 

I am a wife, former Kyrene Student, and Current Kyrene parent dedicated to protecting public education. When Kyrene, like many other districts around the state, announced the closure of schools, I stood with other Kyrene parents in our fight to keep more schools open. Together, we provided data to aid in the board's current decision to save two out of eight proposed schools slated for closure.

 

My priorities for Kyrene moving forward are to increase our enrollment by working closely with our Marketing Department to reach more families, build on transparency and educate parents on our district spending and finances, and expand opportunities to all Kyrene Kids no matter their social status.
